Chemical Peels are NOT scary!

“Baylee, Why do you recommend peels to your clients?“
Oh I love peels for so many different reasons! At FACE FOUNDRIÉ Nashville we offer a few different PCA Skin® peels. I love to start with the Sensi Peel by PCA Skin® when peel season begins to get my skin warmed up for the season – then I’ll tackle concerns. (Throughout the year I love using Sensi just to give my skin a refresh … so maybe this is my favorite one?)
A year and a half ago I was having some digestion issues and the stress of it all showed up on my skin. Along with figuring out what was happening within my body, I also began doing peels. I focused on our PCA Skin® Peel with Hydroquinone – which has lactic acid, salicylic acid, kojic acid & citric acid … along with hydroquinone. It was a powerhouse to target the congestion and active spots on my skin. With regular treatments the inflammation causing breakouts & pigmentation began to regulate and cleared my skin right up. Looking back at it I’m shocked at the difference 🙂 I’m a big believer in peels. Looking ahead this year I will be on a journey to correct some hyperpigmentation & melasma caused by hormone irregularity and hopefully get it to a place where I feel even more confident in my skin with our brand new Pigment Correct Peel from PCA Skin®! Hoping for that one to be my new fav so stay tuned 😍
Your first peel will change you. Peels are truly my favorite services to perform because the results are incredible and a lot quicker than other treatments. When you come in we will talk about your skin concerns & what your goals are. I will also look at your skin! We will work together to figure out a treatment plan that suits your needs. We have peels for every concern you may have.
I always start someone with our Sensi peel if they’ve never had a peel before or it’s the first of the season. Peels are best in a series (in my opinion, even though results are delivered after one visit!) because the skin will have a better chance of lasting benefits as opposed to one superficial peel. A monthly peel is perfect if you want to target a skin concern. The Sensi peel has a lower % of acids. It is a bit milder to start which will give your skin a little warm up of what’s to come. Don’t get me wrong, you will absolutely see a brighter skin tone! I love the Sensi Peel. We start with this as it’s best not to bulldoze the skin because we want to allow it a chance to build back up!

You can expect:
- A little spiciness on the skin (don’t worry I provide you with a fan!)
- Tightness of the skin
- Brighter complexion immediately!
- Possible flaky skin/peeling but not always!
- Your Esthetician will listen to your concerns, asses your skin, and pick which peel is right for you!

My upcoming peel journey will be focused on hyperpigmentation.
I started with a sensi peel today and for the next 3 weeks I will be incorporating the Pigment Gel Pro Serum by PCA Skin® into my skin care routine. Basically the Pigment Gel Pro Serum is going to help fade dark spots while also protecting against the production of new dark spots, making it a perfect product for my melasma! This is going to prepare my skin to be treated while inhibiting further production of hyperpigmentation. Then I will begin adding in the Pigment Correct Peel and doing a series of peels monthly. Working my way to a Microchannel by Procell as well! But I can’t get too ahead of myself. 🙂
Skin care is not one-size-fits-all. And we can reach the “wildest” goals we set with a little consistency and a lot of love for ourselves.
